Resident Bryce wears a winning medal at the Special Olympics

Bryce is one of the center’s all-star residents, having lived here for over nine years and residing with his housemates in a nice cottage towards the back of campus. He is an integral part of the AuSSLC community, making everyone feel at home with his warm personality. Bryce has worked several jobs in the community and has main interests at the center and in the Austin Community. He recently enrolled in the University of Texas’s E4Texas program to earn his employment certification, focusing on Personal Care Attendant training and we could not be more proud. Bryce is soaring in his classes and enjoying meeting new friends from all over central Texas.

On campus, Bryce enjoys singing in the AuSSLC Community Choir and performing solos, duets, and other chorale performances at the annual choir festival. He has helped bring home many trophies over the years for his excellent talent. Bryce continues to lead through his membership on the Human Rights Committee and the Self Advocates board, having served in several officer positions. An avid sports fan, he reads the Austin American Statesman religiously to keep abreast of this favorite teams – the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers and the Round Rock Express. He is on our Special Olympics Austin All Stars team, competing in basketball, track and field, bowling and bocce. Bryce lives a full and very well-rounded life at the center.
